Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Like Denominators

When you're adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators, all you need to do is add the numerators which are the top numbers. Don't worry about adding the denominator because the denominator tells you how many parts there are to make a whole. Also, if your answer is not already simplified, simplify it.
Examples:
3/8 + 1/8 = 4/8 = 1/2
13/17 - 2/17 = 11/17
